sylvester stalloneSylvester Stallone was christened Michael Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone, Hell's Kitchen in Manhattan on July 6, 1946. He's the child of the Italian born Francesco "Frank" Stallone Jr, a hairdresser, and Jackie Stallone, an astrologer and dancer. Frank Stallone Sr, his younger brother, is an actor, musician and hairdresser. Due to complications during childbirth, Sylvester's lower left side was paralyzed. This led to the famed "snarling" speech, slurred words and distinctive look. Stallone spent part of his early years in foster care due to of the conflicting parent-child relationship. The couple divorced later. Stallone studied drama at the American College in Switzerland before going to the University of Miami. Before completing his degree, he left school and relocated to New York City in order to pursue a career in acting.
