Alia Shawkat (born April 18 1989) is one of the wealthiest and most well-known TV Actresses. Alia Shawkat grew up in Riverside California. She was Maeby in the Fox series Arrested Development, a part which won her a TV Land Future Classic Award. In the film Whip It, she starred alongside Ellen Page. Shawkat portrayed Hannah on the show State of Grace from 2001-2004. Shawkat played Maeby Funke in Arrested Development from 2003 until the year 2018. Shawkat received praise for her performance on occasion. The show got almost universally positive feedback. Brian M. Palmer noted that she was among the brightest lights in a universe dominated by other bright lights. Scott Weinberg, of eFilmCritic said she was an extremely funny woman. In a recent interview with The A.V. Shawkat told the Club that in 2010, many of Shawkat's early moments as an actress took place during Arrested Development: Mitch Hurwitz was my father persona. It was fun to have Mitch Hurwitz around, because my comedy understanding was heightened during this period. Shawkat was a part of Eva Mendes and Eric Wareheim in Har Mar's Tall Boy video, which was a music video from Whip It star Har mar Superstar. In October of 2009, it was announced that Shawkat Har Mar and Whip It's Co-star Ellen Page would produce and create a series for HBO named Stitch N Bitch. Based on The Hollywood Reporter, the show follows two painfully hipster chic girls who move from Brooklyn's Williamsburg neighborhood to Los Angeles Silver Lake enclave with the hopes of becoming a professional artist of all kinds. Alice Braga was also the actor who played Teresa Mendoza for the TV crime thriller Queen of the South. She has received a lot of praise for her performances.
